Gives grants to environmental protection, economic development and cultural preservation / enhancement projects on Cherokee land. Supports language and leadership development initiatives.

Provides merit-based scholarships for Alaska Natives (CIRI and descendants only), 3 village scholarships for Ninilchik, Salamatof and Eklutna based on available funds, 9 endowment scholarships and 2 named scholarships, and 2 education grants.

Improves student attendance, behavioral and course performance in English and math with the use of diverse teams of young people called corps members who serve full-time in schools for 10 months.

Educates and inspires young people to become informed and engaged citizens by providing challenging, hands-on civic education programs for students and teachers in Washington, DC. Using the nation's capital as a living classroom, participants get a "close-up" view of government and democracy in action.
