CNAY Staff Send Off 2017-18 Newman’s Own Fellow Del Curfman

In June, CNAY staff Erik Stegman and Nikki Pitre traveled to Westport, CT to support Newman’s Own Foundation Fellow, Del Curfman and attend his graduation ceremony. Additionally, Nikki participated in a one-day meeting which Newman’s Own Foundation facilitated. The meeting was to explore working with multiple generations, how to navigate different communication methods in the work place, and what that means to best support incoming Newman’s Own Foundation Fellows.

CNAY Hosts Udall Interns in Washington, D.C. 

Thirteen interns from the Udall Native American Congressional Internship joined the Center for Native American Youth at The Aspen Institute for a roundtable discussion on July 9. The Udall Internship places undergraduate, graduate, and law students in Senate, House, and federal agency offices to learn firsthand how the U.S. government works with Native nations. This understanding of the nation to nation relationship, along with hands-on experience, provides valuable tools to help advance Indian Country

Sally Jewell Featured in Carnegie Corporation "Great Immigrants" Series

Every year near July 4th, Carnegie Corporation of New York honors the legacy of founder Andrew Carnegie by celebrating naturalized U.S. citizens whose extraordinary contributions are moving the country forward. This year, the Great Immigrants series featured former Department of the Interior Secretary Sally Jewell and highlighted her continued commitment to Indigenous youth as a Board Member for the Center for Native American Youth and strong supporter of Obama's Generation Indigenous initiative.
