CNAY Attends Oral Health Meeting in Minnesota

In mid-November, CNAY staff traveled to Minneapolis to attend a one-day conference at the University of Minnesota focused on oral health and the utilization of mid-level dental providers. The meeting provided CNAY with opportunities to visit dental clinics and training facilities currently using mid-level dental providers to see firsthand how they are expanding access to dental care.

Currently, mid-level providers are not widely used, however, tribes in Alaska, Washington, and Oregon are using what is known as Dental Health Aid Therapists to provide care to tribal members.
