Nikki Pitre Speaks at Netroots Nation Conference

CNAY Staff Nikki Pitre participated in the 2018 Netroots Nation Women’s Pre-Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana on August 1. Women from across the country who are dedicated to seeing women in leadership positions came together to share their stories and empower one another. Nikki participated in a panel discussion for “Next steps for the moment we are in right now: Hear from local and national organizers and leaders about how they are deploying their resources to build coalitions that last, examples of innovative cross-movement building and how to best leverage local presence and representation to advance our issues.” Alongside Nikki was, Yadira Sanchez, Development Director, Mi Familia Vota, Maria Urbina, Political Director, Indivisible, and, Lala Wu, Co-Founder. The panel was moderated by Vanessa Cárdenas, Senior Director, National Outreach, of EMILY’s List.

Over the weekend of July 13-15, a diverse cohort of young adults from urban, rural, and tribal communities located all over the Pacific Coast came together on the campus of California State University, Long Beach for three days of cultural sharing, leadership development, and outdoor exploration.
