Danielle is a hardworking, positive role model for Native American youth. In college, she drove three hours twice a week to teach Head Start students, volunteered as an after school tutor, and served as a dance teacher in her spare time. Through her previous participation on the Mid Dakota Teen Clinic Advisory Board, Danielle mentored youth within her community, addressing issues like teen pregnancy and alcohol and substance abuse.

In 2016, Danielle was crowned Miss Indian World, a prestigious title often considered the Indigenous equivalent of Miss Universe. During her reign, Danielle traveled the country advocating for Native language preservation and youth suicide prevention, and courageously took a stance against the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline on Standing Rock Sioux tribal lands. She did all this while graduating early from Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law with High Pro Bono Distinction. She is the first person from the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe to earn a degree from that institution.
