Kendra Becenti is from the Diné (Navajo) Nation. She is a rising senior and Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow at Stanford University where she is pursuing a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Native American Studies and Sociology with a concentration in Data Science. Kendra aspires to pursue a career in research and advocacy to benefit Indigenous people, focusing on cultural and linguistic revitalization efforts, decolonial methodologies, political and media visibility of Indigenous people, and the experiences and challenges of Native youth. She hopes her research can produce data that challenges stereotypes and promotes Indigenous sovereignty, resilience, and excellence.

Kendra was a CNAY summer fellow in 2019 where she worked on advocacy for the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirits crisis. She will be joining the CNAY team again for the 2020 summer as the Gen-I and Special Projects Intern where she hopes to utilize her passion for research and desire to uplift young Indigenous voices.
