Northern Arapaho & Navajo Nation Tribes
I am a 15 year old northern Arapahoe, Navajo native american from the WindRiver Indian reservation. I’ve been doing art for over ten years. I enjoy listening to music, drawing, beading, going to powwows, hanging out with family. I love being around animals, cleaning, sleeping, being creative. My favorite food is lasagna, my favorite candy is poprocks. I really love driving and enjoying my own peach. I love roses. My favorite thing to learn about is history. My favorite cartoon is spongebob. My favorite color is blue and my least favorite color is pink. I like very odd and random things.
My art piece “The Indigenous Way” was created by me during my freshman year at Riverton High school. This was inspired by my art teacher, Mrs. Graysinner. She gave me the idea to create a piece from my background as a native american. The three pieces i included in this painting was the jingle dress dancer, teepees, and a horse. The dancer represents using our tradition of healing through dance. The two teepees represent our safe place. The horse represents a symbol of power and success.
