Tribal Salmon Camp

Salmon Camp is a week long summer camp for tribal youth from the CRITFC Member Tribes (Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, Confederated

  • Increase exposure of tribal youth to professional careers protecting tribal resources;
  • Build STEM skills in tribal youth by increasing student understanding of algebraic thinking, understanding of real world science, and increase student
    appreciation for the complementary relationship between cultural knowledge and Western science;
  • Foster academic aspiration by sparking and sustaining student interest in STEM education and careers; and
  • Provide family resources to increase awareness of financial aid and college preparation.
