Margaret is a vibrant and talented 9-year-old who has a love for her heritage and an insatiable curiosity for the world around her. Margaret is on a mission to share her Navajo culture through art. She expresses herself in powwow dancing, painting, drawing and crafting. With dreams and aspirations as colorful as her regalia and artwork, Margaret is a shining example of youthful exuberance and cultural pride.

My artwork is called, My Navajo Hair: Tradition and Expression. It shows me with different hairstyles that represent who I am and where I come from. Some of the hairstyles show my Navajo traditions and honor my ancestors. Others show how I like to express myself in my own way. My hair is beautiful and is a connection to my culture, my family and my creativity. It reminds me to be proud of my roots and to be myself.
