She completed her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice last fall at United Tribes Technical College and will officially walk the stage at graduation in May. Belle volunteers at a boxing gym in her hometown in South Dakota, where she helps train and advise both youth and adults. Boxing has been an important part of her life, and she is passionate about using it to build confidence, discipline and resilience within her community.
She also enjoys creating traditional Lakóta art as a way to express her emotions and honor those she loves. She works in many forms, including parfleche, sewing, leatherwork and beadwork. Her inspiration comes from her family, her ancestors, and the teachings she was raised with.
Belle is honored to begin this new journey in the Remembering Our Sisters cohort and looks forward to meaningful learning experiences and gaining knowledge that will help her better support her community.
