Being artistic lets me speak for native girls like me about generational memories, hardships, and blessings. My work expresses my feelings on Native American Church (NAC) and the importance of young women carrying water. Women have carried water and prayed for generations. As a young native woman, NAC inspires my art, from the moment we enter under the stars, the fire changing with different shapes and colors, and to the morning we carry the water in. We live and breath the expression of art through our purpose and culture.
