húŋa mehéší! Manahoo!
Hello, I am Aspen Carrillo. I am enrolled Yerington Paiute and Washoe and I speak both Wá∙šiw and Numu. My family is from the Coleville, CA area, but I grew up in Carson City, NV. I am currently living in Reno, NV and I’m going to school at the University of Nevada, Reno for a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts. Aside from school I also proudly serve as the Youth Representative for a nonprofit called Washiw Zulshish Goom Tahn Nu.
Water is sacred to me. I believe women especially pregnant women are sacred and I wanted to draw something that highlighted this.
