My piece uses floral designs to represent myself and my experiences through floral designs and randomized beads. To indigenous people flowers and leaves aren’t just to look pretty, they have medicinal use, and we hold them in high regard. I believe Native Youth are medicine because we may face adversity, but we persevere, and we bring beauty and light to the world! We have our ancestors running though our veins with strength. The vines on my beaded bag signify that resilience and the galaxy row on the outside is our ancestors showing us our way. We bring happiness and hope.
