16, Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians
It is a portrait of my grandmother. She passed away in December of 2020. She is my future because of who she was. I want to be able to speak my language more fluently. I want to encourage my friends to speak our language more and take pride in our culture. In the future, I want my generation to not be afraid of who we are. I want to be a role model in my community. Just like how she was to me. She never once was afraid of being who she was and that is what I want my future to be.
