I painted hatch chilies in a traditional Acoma bowl, alongside a traditional Acoma vase. This piece is my take on a traditional fruit bowl still life. I focused on the Pueblo side of my heritage. My identity is centered around my culture, my house is filled with Acoma pottery and my freezer is filled with chilis that we always bring home from New Mexico.
