I am most known by my artist name Isnanaun. I’m a self taught indigenous artist from the Mni Wakan Oyate. My biggest inspiration for drawing is bringing native representation through my art and being the inspiration for other people and native youth that I wish I had when I was a young artist. Thanks to the incredible people and community I have built online, I’m currently living off my artwork and saving up to build out my 1995 Chevy van as a home to live in hopefully by this coming spring.
“The 7th generation prophecy, and the weight we carry on our shoulders for our youth to become Whirlwinds of Ancestral Knowledge.” The weight, traumas, and hardships the past and current 7 generations (as depicted) had to carry for this prophecy to finally show hope, change, renewal for our people. The courage it takes to break and heal from generational traumas despite how isolating and difficult it can be at times for the sake of the next generations wellbeing and Being conscious in the way we carry ourselves, treat, teach, guide our youth is what is most sacred to me.
