Hello! My name is Kayllian and I am from the Navajo Nation. I am 16 years old. When I draw I like to involve my culture and teaching taught form my parents and teachers down to me. I feel it’s important as I do not want to lose it.
In Navajo culture and traditions there is something called a “snow bath.” In the drawing I depicted two boys, one pushes the other in snow and they don’t have regular winter clothes, that is because we cleanse our whole body or face. I like this ’cause when me and my siblings were younger we would always do this and when we were apart we would save snow for the other. The push I feel like could be siblings messing around or it could be a push in the cleanse to keep our mind and body strong and healthy.
