My name is Kobe Edenshaw I am Tlingit, Haida and Aleut Alaska Native. I come from the L’eeneidi Clan of Klawock, Alaska. My mother is Mary Edenshaw of Klawock, AK and my father is Doug Edenshaw of Hydaburg, AK. I learned to carve from my Native arts teacher Jon Roawn. Carving is my passion and when I am not carving or doing my art work, I love to play basketball.
My art piece is a carved red cedar Raven forehead mask with copper inlays.
The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Minority Health (OMH) estimates that in 2016, 22% of AI/ANs lived on reservations or other US Census-defined tribal areas while 60% of AI/ANs lived in metropolitan areas.
