Mercedes Danforth-Hernandez

“Mercedes “Miô-Kônda” (transl. Moon God) Danforth-Hernandez (she/her) is an Indigenous artist, writer, filmmaker, and activist based in northeast Wisconsin. She is a member of the Oneida Nation and descendant of the Menominee and Omaha tribes. Her works are inspired by her own experiences as a multi-tribal Indigenous woman and her strive for Indigenous, 2SLGBTQ+, animal rights, and environmental advocacy. She is finishing her Bachelor’s degree in English Literature at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin. She is extremely grateful to be a participant of the Remembering Our Sisters Fellowship and to have the opportunity to shed light on the MMIWG2S movement.”
