This piece is my partner and I in our respective regalia. My partner is Nahua and I am indigenous Andean, Coahuiltecan, and Karankawa Kadla. My partner is nonbinary, so I depicted them in traditional clothes of both genders. I am two spirit and from both so called Texas and so called Peru, so I gave myself regalia from both of my cultures. I am sitting on an Andean structure and the background is my partner’s home town in El Salvador.
