Our Vision is for all Native American youth to lead full and healthy lives, to have equal access to opportunity, and to draw strength from their culture and inspire one another.
I am a contemporary Iñupiaq artist living in Palmer, Alaska. I started my journey in art carving masks to connect more with my culture. Now I would like to continue carving mask but also begin making crocheted dolls showcasing our atikluks and traditional tattoos for kids.
“Tomorrow is not promised. The Creator can take a fluent speaking elder any day, so I feel it is my duty to step up and save our language. Now is not the time to turn our backs on learning our languages, customs, or culture. If we turn away now, we lose our identity as Natitaytma (Native Americans).”
