“Sandstone Instrument” honors the sacred collaboration between humans and the land and the stories preserved by us both. It explores ephemerality while honoring the traces we leave behind in the spaces our bodies have occupied. The piece reflects the beautiful landforms of rocky midwest landscapes while mimicking the whistle of hollow caves when air is blown through the small opening at the left of the arch.
