The goal of this project was to feed the community of Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians traditional foods. This was accomplished by practicing shared leadership and partnerships with Miigwech Inc, The Two Spirit Council of Baawating and Bay Mills Two Spirit Committee.
This event empowered a Native youth to engage with their community around issues like food insecurity, access to contraception and co-leadership. The community partners see this particular native youth as an up and coming leader.
