CNAY Offering Microgrant Funding to Combat Food Insecurity

In light of the ongoing uncertainty in SNAP funding & interruptions in critical federal nutrition benefits, the Center for Native American Youth (CNAY) is offering rapid response grants to support urgent food security & nutrition access for Indigenous communities during this uncertain time.

Native youth (ages 11-24) can apply for up to $1,000 in funding through the Democracy is Indigenous initiative for community service projects, including but not limited to:

  • Community feeds
  • Food drives
  • Meal delivery

To be considered for these funds, please complete the linked application. Applicants must be self-identified Native youth (11-24) and currently reside in the U.S. Funding must be used to conduct a community service project and cannot be allocated for personal use.

Community service projects can include: purchasing food and other resources for a local food bank, hosting a community feed, delivering food boxes to community members and other community projects that could help supplement the temporary loss of SNAP benefits.
