In response to the catastrophic floods effecting Hawai’i, the Center for Native American Youth (CNAY) is is able to offer micro-grant funding to Native youth who want to help rebuild and aid their communities.
Native youth (ages 11-24) who currently reside in the U.S. can apply for up to $1,000 in funding through the Democracy is Indigenous initiative for community-centered relief events and services, including but not limited to:
- Community feeds during flood relief activities (rebuilds, donation events, etc.)
- Clothing drives or distributions
- Food/water distribution
- Community healing convenings
- Rebuild planning meetings
*Funding must be used to conduct a community service project and cannot be allocated for personal use.
**NOTE: If your application is approved, it can take 4-6 weeks to receive funds. Please keep this in mind when describing your relief plan.
