I am a 12 year old girl who lives in Hominy, Oklahoma on the Osage Nation Reservation in the Hominy Indian Village. I have a twin brother, an older sister and an older brother. I am a cheerleader at Hominy middle school. I am active in my Osage culture and participate in the Hominy district In-Lon-Shka dances each June. I am a member of the Eagle Clan. My Osage heritage is an important part of who I am. Our Osage heritage is an important part of our family.
My artwork shows the paths in which we have to walk during our lives. We are guided along those paths by the history we are taught by our families. It is important that we always look to our father God or “Wa-Kon-Dah” for guidance and direction. The Eagle feather represents looking to the sky for that direction.
