CNAY Offering Microgrant Funding for AK Typhoon Relief Efforts

In light of the recent devastation caused by ex-Typhoon Halong, which disproportionately affected Alaska Natives and their villages, the Center for Native American Youth (CNAY) is able to offer micro-grant funding to Native youth who want to help rebuild and aid their communities.

Native youth (ages 11-24) can apply for up to $1,000 in funding through the Democracy is Indigenous initiative for community-centered relief events and services, including but not limited to:

  • Community feeds during flood relief activities (rebuilds, donation events, etc.)
  • Clothing drives or distributions
  • Food/water distribution
  • Community healing convenings
  • Rebuild planning meetings

*NOTE: If your application is approved, it can take 4-6 weeks to receive funds. Please keep this in mind when describing your relief plan.
