Department of Justice grants: Office of Justice Programs’ open grant opportunities are available online, and as with all of the Justice Department, the grant-making process is streamlined for tribal communities, with the Coordinated Tribal Assistance Solicitation (CTAS)serving as a single solicitation for existing tribal government-specific grant programs administered by the Office of Justice Programs (OJP), the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) and the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW).
Offers health grants; one was awarded for a study to prevent obesity and promote oral hygiene in Native American Youth.
OJJDP specifically supports awardee efforts to develop and implement effective and coordinated prevention and intervention programs and to improve the juvenile justice system so that it protects public safety, holds justice-involved youth appropriately accountable, and provides treatment and rehabilitative services tailored to the needs of juveniles and their families.
