Kellian Staggers Reflects on 2017 Columbia Summer Program Experience

Last year, Kellian Staggers attended Columbia University’s Summer Immersion Program for High School Students as our 2017 CNAY-Columbia Scholar. Kellian is Navajo from New Mexico, and chose to study neuroscience during her time in New York City. Kellian says that she learned a lot from the program — including that neuroscience might not be what she wants to pursue. She also realized just how much she appreciates her home community. Kellian will deliver a presentation about her experience back home, and encourages Native youth to take advantage of this opportunity. Click here to read Kellian’s reflection in her own words.
