My piece represents stolen identity through our much suppressed and stolen culture. A lot of my own identity is represented through the identity of my ancestors and our culture. The Cherokee syllabary I used in my piece says “si otsedohi”, which means “We are still here”. Although many people have tried to steal parts of our culture, and our Identities, we are still here. Our identity still remains.
