For this piece, I choose to make a drawing with graphite on paper. To me, identity is experiences, culture, and family. So, to answer the prompt “Identity,” I wanted to focus on creating a record of myself and my sisters attending a pow-wow as children. On the left is my sister wearing jingle dress regalia, me in the middle wearing fancy shawl regalia, and on the right is my sister wearing traditional regalia. These pieces of regalia are ones that my mom created for us as kids.
