This Gen-I Native Opportunities Weekly (NOW) message shares information about Partnerships to Advance Tribal Health (PATH)’s Town Hall on Combatting Opioids and Substance Abuse.

The Department of Health and Human Services invites you to participate in the PATH Town Hall on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, 8:30 a.m.–12 p.m. Eastern Time in Washington, DC.The event will include special remarks from HHS leadership, members of Congress, and tribal leaders. To attend in person, click here to register by the July 23 deadline. A livestream of the event will be accessible for those unable to attend but willing to participate.

Additionally, youth are encouraged to take a pledge to build a #PATHFORWARD to improve behavioral health in your community. These pledges will be broadcasted at the event. Click here for more information.

Finally, if you are a local Native youth in the Washington, DC area whose community is being impacted by the opioid crisis, email Sharece Tyler (Sharece.Tyer@samhsa.hhs.gov) to learn more about an opportunity to speak at this town hall.

TO PARTICIPATE:

  1. Sign the pledge and email your release form to Sharece Tyler at Sharece.Tyer@samhsa.hhs.gov;
  1. Post a photo of yourself on the HHS Facebook event page, your Instagram and Twitter, using the hashtag #PATHFORWARD (check out this social media toolkit for tips on posting);
  1. Share with your peers and encourage them to take the pledge; and
  1. Join the town hall in person or on the livestream.
