South Central Climate Science Center Undergraduate Summer Internship
The South Central Climate Science Center is offering summer undergraduate internships to students of underrepresented minorities interested in STEM and passionate about climate change. Interns will be involved in hands-on activities and mini-projects related to climate research that allow them to see the direct impacts of climate variability and change across the country. As part of the internship, interns will travel across the south-central United States to visit university campuses and field locations. The internship dates are July 8-28, 2018, and all meals and lodging will be provided, as well as a $200 weekly stipend.

Native Governance Center Youth Builders
Youth Rebuilders is a summer experience that equips Native youth with nation building training and inspires them to share their visions for the future. We’ll meet the selected Youth Rebuilders in their own community and provide them with three days of fun, interactive programming.

Northwest Youth Corps’ Tribal Stewards Program
The Tribal Stewards Program is specifically designed to provide hands on training and experience to Native American young adults who are interested in pursuing employment with conservation corps, land and water resource management agencies, and other outdoor careers. The Tribal Stewards Program integrates team-based work projects, culture relevancy, education, and on-site vocational training into an experience that prioritizes personal growth, and the development of conservation work skills. Participants will develop technical skills working on a variety of conservation projects while developing the soft skills needed to be successful in the outdoor industry.

5th Annual Native Youth Food and Agriculture Leadership Summit
The 2018 Native Youth in Food in Agriculture Leadership Summit is an annual conference hosted by University of Arkansas School of Law that gives Native youth the opportunity to gain a better understanding of of food and agriculture production and policy. During the Summit, youth will have the opportunity to connect with experts in food and agriculture, as well as learn the skills necessary to be the next generation of leaders in the field. This year’s dates are June 7-14 (includes travel), and all food, lodging, instructional materials and field trip costs will be provided. Some travel scholarships are available.

Obama Foundation Internship
The Obama Foundation is now taking applications for their 2018 Summer Internship. The internship will run from May 29, 2018 through August 17, 2018 (semester system students) and June 18, 2018 to September 7, 2018 (quarter system students). Interns will work 40 hours a week in either the Chicago or D.C. office. Interns will also receive stipends and reimbursements for a portion of the expenses directly related to their internship.

Tribal-Researcher Capacity Building Grant
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), National Institute of Justice (NIJ) is seeking applications for funding for grants to support research involving federally recognized tribes (or tribally based organizations) on issues of crime and justice in the United States. This program furthers the Department’s mission by sponsoring research to provide objective, independent, evidence-based knowledge and tools to meet the challenges of crime and justice, particularly at the tribal level.
