I made a buckskin face mask with a horse mask attached to it. On both sides of the mask, horsehair is hanging and two beaded ropes with size 11 cut beads. It is also beaded down the center and has studs around it. The mask represents protection and strength. I made the mask because, I love riding horses and due to COVID I didn’t get to ride any horses this year and go to Sundance and pray with the horse nation. I’m a Native Youth and this is how it connects to me and gives me strength through COVID.
